"He walked down the road, kicking up dust as he went."

What is kicking and how is it rendered? I thought it might be "[and] (he was) kicking up dust as he went."

Grammatically? was kicking (Imperfect Past). Both "kicking up dust" and "as he went" each have their own verbum.

So it would be:

He walked[past simple] along the road, kicking[past imp.] up dust as he went[past imp.].

And another question:

"I saw him die."

Ɛʃɪlɔmam towa talṱɔgəbami ɛb.
(I saw that he died.)

Yea or nay?

Yes. Also "I saw him dying [participle]" (Ɛʃɪlɔmam ɛbəɬ talṱɔgəb aʃəm.)
