Huzzah! Looking for a better way to type Gallifreyan other than just copy & pasting from the Project Notes or zipping back and forth in Character Map? Well, here comes a brand, spanking new keyboard layout for you to use! It's beautiful, I tell ya.

Currently available for:
Windows 7
Windows Vista
Windows XP

The files are currently available on the Home Page as galfrey.rar

To install your new keyboard:

1. Unzip the folder (You may need to download WinRAR if ZIP doesn't work)
2. Open the galfrey folder. You will see 4 folders and 4 files.
3. Double-click Galfrey_amd64.msi
4. The file will install as an English (United States) Keyboard.

Having trouble installing?

1. Try either the Galfrey_i386 and Galfrey_ia64 files first.
2. If that doesn't work, open each folder in turn and try those.
3. Do not click setup.exe unless you want to remove the keyboard.

Still having problems?

You may be running a 32-bit system. The keyboard should work on both 32- and 64-bit, but I can't speak for the developing program. I would suggest Microsoft Help.

Also, currently this only works for Windows. Sorry. If you want to develop one for Mac or Linux, feel free.

Once the keyboard is installed:

1. Open your computer's Control Panel.
2. Go to "Region and Language" (This will open a new window)
3. Click on "Keyboards and Languages"
4. Click on "Change Keyboards..." (This will open another new window)

If you already have English (United States) as a keyboard:

It should be installed already. If not, keep reading.

If you do not have English (United States) as a keyboard:

1. To the right of your keyboard list is a panel of options. Click "Add" (Another new window)
2. Navigate to English (United States).
3. Expand "Keyboard"
4. This will bring up a short list. Click "Show More"
5. The keyboard is titled "For Circular Gallifreyan"
6. Select the keyboard
7. Click "OK" (The window will close.)
8. Now you should see Circular Gallifreyan on your list of keyboards

EN English (United States)
---Keyboard
------For Circular Gallifreyan

9. Click "Apply"
10. Woohoo!

How to switch to Circular Gallifreyan:

The window with your list of keyboards should still be open. Don't close it yet.

1. At the top should be a tab called "Language Bar". Click it.
2. Select "Docked in Taskbar"

Now in the taskbar near the computer clock you will see EN (or your keyboard code) and a keyboard image.

1. Click the EN (or your code) to bring up your major keyboards (EN for English, RU for Russian, etc).
2. Select EN English (United States).
3. If you have more than one ENUS keyboard (Standard, International, etc.) click the keyboard image next to the EN code. This will bring up the list of subkeyboards.
4. Select "For Circular Gallifreyan"

ON KEYBOARD SELECTION [OS BUG]

This has nothing to do with the keyboard, it's just a little bug on Microsoft's part when it comes to keyboard selection.

If you click on the keyboard to select Gallifreyan and the taskbar does not immediately drop/hide when you mouse over the list, CG will not select! When you go mouse over the list, the taskbar must drop for the keyboard to select.

Post your problems, questions, thoughts, and more here.

Not without messing up the installation. >_> I'd have to make a whole new keyboard. *blanch*

Pity.

I can make one especially for you if you like; it wouldn't be as much of a hassle.

Why am I crying? o_O

What computer are you using? What's the OS? 32- or 64-bit?

Am I missing something_ can't you just switch between the gallifreyan keyboard and the non-gallifreyan keyboard when you need to in the language bar? It sɛɛms ɛasi ɛnough.

In general, yes. (And I'm glad it works for you!) But it seems it doesn't want to work for Rhiannon... :/

Oh, that's odd.

In response to your cackle, please tell me I didn't accidentally write something strange there, like : "My blue cheese in June" or something?

The keyboard has also become my default, for some reason. happy Keep having to deselect it.

No, no. I was just kind of laughing at your Gallifreyan-ly English sentence. Very clever. o.o

Hm...that's exactly what I'm running... o_o Did you try all the files/folders (less setup.exe)?
