Way cool! It's like Gallifrey and its smaller almost-twin-planet Polarfrey. :D

I wonder if there is any intelligent life on there? Hehe

My only grumble about living in this day and age is that I will never get to see or witness or communicate with other intelligent life from other
planets, as the technology won't be around in my lifetime.
Makes me sad. I think it would be beautiful :)

Kepler 47, home of the time lords XD But that's actually pretty awesome. And that it is in the habitable zone makes it even cooler. And Cygnus sounds sort of like Kasterborous, if you squint hard enough :P

and who said we won't communicate with other life? Maybe they will contact us first! It could even happen tomorrow! Unlikely, but things can always happen.

I know it's always possible, but the thing about humans is, what race would want to contact us at this point?
I think we aren't ready for it as a race.
People seem convinced that if there is alien life out there that it must be hostile.
How silly.

They could be like us but just with the technology that we still lack -- they'd detect an inhabited planet, give it a name without knowing that the locals call it Earth, and send messages to see if there's any intelligent life on it. Then, well, maybe we'd be able to reply to them, or maybe they would just decide to have a look themselves... They might be disappointed later on, though.

(The other problem is, they might not communicate with words at all, or in a way similar to anything we know...)

Don't mind me, I haven't had enough sleep. >.<

The only solid proof of intelligent life elsewhere is that they haven't tried to contact us. Why would they want to involve themselves in our problems? Let's face it, there wouldn't be any "Star Trek: First Contact" moment, it would be an auction.

I like to think that other intelligent life isn't like us - I think at this point if we came across other intelligent life, we'd go one of two ways.  We'd either feel that we were superior and try to dominate them, make money off them or exploit their resources.  Or we'd be terrified of their technological advancements and declare some kind of war.
Wouldn't it be nice if other intelligent life could open up our eyes about what it really means to be kind?

As a side note, just think of how much it would open up the scope for new religions, other religions being dis-proven, new theories about how the universe came to be, technology.
Yep, I wish I was around to see it in the couple of thousand years it'll probably take.
Because, let's be honest - as humans on this Earth, we are still babies on this planet.
