50TH ANNIVERSARY NEWS SPOILERS: apparently hints for The 50th anniversary courtsey of "The Whistleblower":
The 50th Special Show
•Doctor Eleven will wear all previous Doctor's costumes.
•He gives the new UNIT scientific advisor a scarf
•Nicolas Courtney's voice is heard
•All loose ends will be tied up ie TARDIS explosion, cracks in Time etc.
•Look back at ALL Moffat's arc episodes as there are roots back. He has set up three year long "plot bombs"
•Billie Piper has a cameo much shorter than David Tennant's. They are not from the same "era"
•There are two TARDISes
•Clara has met the Doctor more than three times as an adult. And more than one Doctor
•Like the Dream Lord, Hurt's character harks back to a classic show enemy. He plays OMEGA, who is out to get the Doctor due to the destruction of Gallifrey. He pretends to be the Doctor and is able to fool everyone because of the DNA he has - mapped onto the Doctor's from Arc of Infinity.
•Torchwood is mentioned.

o.o The anticipation....

THIS IS SO FREAKING EXCITING!

So Clara must have met 10 then I'm assuming?  And that'll be possibly why David Tennant will have a much bigger role to play.

And TWO TARDISes!  That IS interesting.  Can't wait to see this.

Though not many Doctors will be returning (in fact only the tenth will) that doesn't really mean that they wont bring back other classic characters. Kate Stewart is said to be returning, and a new actress is turning up named Ingrid Oliver who is credited as "Osgood." Tom Osgood was a member of UNIT around the third Doctor's era and this may be a descendant.

Actors John Hurt and Joanna Page will also be featured, along with Ken Bones as "The General" and Orlando James as "Lord Bentham" who is likely a portrayal of Sir Samuel Bentham.

It will also allegedly feature Zygons, Daleks, and the Cybermen. There was also rumors of The Master returning played by Benedict Cumberbatch, but Moffat later said this was untrue and that "John Simm is still the Master."

Moffat and Smith have also hinted that the anniversary may be multiple episodes, but haven't confirmed anything.

When Smith was asked to give any details about the episode he merely said "Paintings."

Christopher Eccleston has turned down returning. McGann said before this “The anniversary doesn’t start until November. Whatever it is that they’re planning and they are making, they’ve got time to do it. It’s my feeling [and] this is just a personal thing, once they resolve Chris Eccleston’s participation or non-participation either way, then they’re free to [figure it out]… Being actors anyway, they’ll call us on the Friday and say, ‘You’re starting on a Monday’.”

Sophie Aldred, who previously played Ace said “I’d love to. I’d drop everything. I did find out that Russell T Davies had planned for Ace [to appear in] the Sarah Jane Adventures… You never know. I’m waiting for a call.”

John Barrowman claims he is not returning for the 50th.
